I have attended art classes for about twenty-five years now, starting with the Saturday morning art classes at Duncan of Jordanstone Art College in Dundee.  The tutors at that time were James McIntosh Patrick and Joe MacIntyre.   More recently I have attended classes run by Harry McGregor.

Currently I am Membership Secretary of Broughty Ferry Art Society and exhibit in their Annual Exhibition in July.  I also exhibit work in the YMCA Broughty Ferry show where Harry holds his class.

Usually I paint landscapes in oils; occasionally flowers in watercolour.  Water based oils have replaced traditional oils in my bag and I find them equally as effective and a lot easier to clean up!  Most of my paintings are on canvas but one or two are on smooth hardboard.

Trees inspire me, especially in dappled sunlight, that's probably a legacy of having McIntosh Patrick as a hero.   I try to vary the subject and size of  canvas to avoid repetition.

The picture of Quinn the Labrador was my first animal painting.

I have tried to make the photographs as true to the actual tones of the pictures as possible
