Currently I am Membership Secretary of Broughty Ferry Art Society and exhibit in their Annual Exhibition in July. I also exhibit work in the YMCA Broughty Ferry show where Harry holds his class. Usually I paint landscapes in oils; occasionally flowers in watercolour. Water based oils have replaced traditional oils in my bag and I find them equally as effective and a lot easier to clean up! Most of my paintings are on canvas but one or two are on smooth hardboard. Trees inspire me, especially in dappled sunlight, that's probably a legacy of having McIntosh Patrick as a hero. I try to vary the subject and size of canvas to avoid repetition. The picture of Quinn the Labrador was my first animal painting. I have tried to make the photographs as true to the actual tones of the pictures as possible |
